![]() A ruling in either direction would have far-reaching implications for emulation, as most if not all emulators of modern game systems could likely be held in violation of the DMCA's anti-circumvention provisions if Nintendo were to win the case. The bigger questions are whether Nintendo would issue an official DMCA takedown notice if Dolphin was released on Steam or truly pursue legal action-and if it did, what would happen. But in Friday's incident, Valve voluntarily chose to remove Dolphin's Steam store page simply based on a warning from Nintendo, meaning Dolphin's only route back onto the store is a discussion with Valve. If it didn't Dolphin could then potentially be re-added to Steam. If the team did file a counterclaim, as explained by Copyright Alliance, Nintendo would have two weeks to decide whether to sue. In a standard takedown situation, the Dolphin development team would have the option to file a counter-notice with Valve if it believed the emulator did not violate the DMCA. However, as this letter was a "warning shot" rather than a notice of specific copyright infringement, it does not follow the mechanism of a DMCA takedown. Under the DMCA, takedown notices are sent to service providers-Valve, in this case-who then must notify the allegedly infringing party. ![]() § 1201, we provide this notice to you of your obligation to remove the offering of the Dolphin emulator from the Steam store," reads the document. "Because the Dolphin emulator violates Nintendo’s intellectual property rights, including but not limited to its rights under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA)’s Anti-Circumvention and AntiTrafficking provisions, 17 U.S.C. The legal notice, reviewed by PC Gamer, is addressed to Valve's legal department and dated May 26, 2023. This has been the product of many months of work, and we look forward to getting it into users' hands soon!" Performance can be increased by enabling 'ignore format changes', to fix the blue box due to this can, enable 'disable fog'.The development team launched a Steam page on March 28 and announced it on the Dolphin blog, writing: "We're pleased to finally tell the world of our experiment. WiiMotion+ emulation is ok in most cases but a few games are very hard to play. Also couldn't reproduce pixelated box issue. Didn't have Mii face issue, though they would dissapear when changing graphics settings. Using Dual Core, DX12, 3x IR, 4xSSAA and EFB to texture only. Perfect with 60FPS and no graphical issues with Force texture filtering at higher IR. Recommended a real Wii Remote Plus (or Wii Remote with Motion Plus accessory) to play. Needs 'Force Texture Filtering' for banding/pixelated shading problems on Mii characters. With Dual Core, Mii faces are disappearing in some (oftenly results, win, level) screens. ![]() Runs perfect 4k / Motion Plus needs to be calibrated every once and a while This title has been tested on the environments listed below:Įrrors in the Mii's faces shown often. However, compatibility may extend to prior revisions or compatibility gaps may exist within ranges indicated as compatible due to limited testing. This seems to be fixed since at least 5.0-10516.Ĭompatibility can be assumed to align with the indicated revisions. Use EFB Copies to Texture Only to remove the pixelated box, however a black line may appear on top of where the box would be. With EFB Copies to Texture Only disabled, a pixelated box of varying sizes will appear during some games. Bluetooth Passthrough will resolve this issue overall. To resolve this problem you may have to have a Wii Nunchuck inserted into the remote as the game is being booted. Wii Motion plus may not be detected when using the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack or the Mayflash DolphinBar. Disable it to correct the problem.īluetooth Passthrough with a decent adapter does not have this issue. Wii Remotes randomly disconnect if "Enable Speaker Data" is on. Automatic bowling controls are unaffected. It may be possible to adjust to the different timings, but it makes the game very difficult to play. During a swing in manual mode, the timing of the ball's release is different compared to the timing on the Wii. Manual bowling controls are inaccurate in emulated Bluetooth with current Dolphin builds.
